1/10/2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 10, 2022) — Lathrop GPM LLP is pleased to announce that Frank Sciremammano has been named the Partner in Charge of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He succeeds Eric Yaffe, who held the position for 17 years. Yaffe will continue with his full-time legal practice representing corporations, franchisors, and individuals in high-stakes litigation and investigations across the country and representing law firms in legal ethics matters.

“Under Eric’s thoughtful and effective leadership, this office has flourished. We are grateful for his resilience, steady guidance, and dedication,” said Sciremammano. “I am thrilled to step into the management role following such a strong and talented leader, and I am excited to continue to enable every attorney and legal professional in this office to do their best on behalf of Lathrop GPM clients. My priorities include maintaining this office’s cohesive culture and continuing to attract talented attorneys and legal professionals to this firm.”

Sciremammano primarily focuses his practice on franchise and distribution litigation. He advises some of the nation’s largest franchisors and regularly defends and prosecutes cases on their behalf in matters involving contract disputes, the enforcement of covenants not to compete, business torts, vicarious liability, and trademark infringement, among other issues.

A member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on Franchising, Sciremammano was named a 2022 Washington, D.C., Rising Star by Super Lawyers® and a 2021 Top Franchise Legal Player by 1851 Franchise Magazine. He has been published in The Franchise Lawyer and the Franchise Law Journal and has spoken at programs for the International Franchise Association (IFA) and the ABA Forum on Franchising. He received a B.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009 and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 2012. Sciremammano resides in Falls Church, Virginia.

“I have enjoyed being the Partner in Charge for 17 years. I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to interview and hire most of the outstanding staff and attorneys in the D.C. office. The opportunity to grow the office from a franchise practice to one that handles intellectual property, investigations and white-collar defense, and advertising and regulatory work has been an honor,” said Yaffe. “It’s also time for new ideas, thoughts, and approaches as we move forward. I’m confident Frank is the right leader to guide our D.C. office and will continue to grow the office and its various practices.”

Best known for their representation of national and international franchisors, the firm’s Washington, D.C., attorneys also focus on several other areas of law, including intellectual property, commercial litigation, and white-collar investigations. In addition, attorneys in the D.C. office regularly represent businesses, individuals, and trustees involved in disputes related to the purchase, sale, and operation of companies, business assets, and real estate. Over the past few years, the firm has continued to grow its D.C. office with the addition of new partners and associates, and a new practice group focused on advertising and food & drug law.
