Our Summer Program
Lathrop GPM’s summer program offers a comprehensive and diverse experience. We provide meaningful work and observational opportunities in various practice groups to offer a well-rounded perspective on practicing law at the firm. This allows summer associates to explore different practice areas, either confirming pre-summer preferences or sparking new interests. Summer associates have the opportunity to interact with partners, leaders, and staff across our geographical footprint, engaging in challenging work and gaining a realistic understanding of practicing law at Lathrop GPM.
In addition to professional development, we prioritize fostering social connections within our firm. Our summer associates have the chance to build relationships through various social and team-building activities including patio parties, trips to client facilities, tours of local attractions, and evening outings at sporting events. This is an integral part of the summer program, as lawyers and summer associates get to know one another outside the office.

How do I apply?

Is Lathrop GPM participating in law school interview programs?
No. Lathrop GPM is following a direct-hire approach and will not participate in law school on-campus interview programs this summer.
What is the 2027 Summer Associate hiring timeline?
Out of respect for final exam schedules, we do not plan on scheduling interviews until after exams. We anticipate initial interviews will begin the week of December 28th and call back interviews will begin the week of January 11th. We will continue to review applications on a rolling basis until our positions are filled.

About the Program
We provide a 10-week program that includes a variety of substantive, real world projects submitted by attorneys in different practice groups across the nation. In addition, we offer several networking opportunities within the firm and our communities, as well as one-on-one attention from a partner mentor and an associate mentor. Throughout the summer there are several opportunities to participate in a professional development series designed to prepare you for becoming a full-time associate.
