Josh Arons

Josh Arons focuses his practice on tax credit finance transactions. Josh represents investors, community development entities (CDEs), lenders, developers, and syndicators in transactions utilizing federal and state new markets tax credits, low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and renewable energy tax credits. Josh also represents financial institutions in commercial real estate finance matters including acquisitions, secured financing, construction and development projects, and complex title and survey matters.

Prior to joining Lathrop GPM, Josh was an associate at a Boston-based firm where he represented financial institutions in complex commercial real estate and tax credit finance matters. Following law school, Josh served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable James A. Bonifant, Administrative Judge at the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Josh also published the Note, Tesla's Right to Rise, in the Transportation Law Journal, which was cited in an Amicus Curiae Brief that was granted Writ of Certiorari by the United States Supreme Court in 2020.

• Assisted in the representation of a new markets tax credits investor in connection with the $21 million acquisition, construction and development of an integrated workforce training center, education center and multifamily low-income housing facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
• Assisted in the representation of a new markets tax credits investor in connection with the $15 million acquisition, assembly and installation of equipment at a poultry processing facility in Forrest, Mississippi.
• Assisted in the representation of an affordable housing tax credit syndicator in connection with the acquisition and rehabilitation of a 186-unit multifamily low-income housing facility in Wellston, Missouri.
• Assisted in the representation of an affordable housing tax credit syndicator in connection with the construction of a 49-unit multifamily low-income housing facility in Erie, Pennsylvania.
• Assisted in the representation of bond purchasers and funding lenders with respect to a $51,700,000 credit facility related to the construction of a 142-unit multifamily low-income housing facility in Washington, D.C.
• Assisted in the representation of a mezzanine lender in connection with the $500 million construction of a luxury apartment project in Boston, Massachusetts.
