Gray Plant Mooty’s Richard Hackett and Clinton Schroeder Named Minneapolis “Lawyers of the Year” in Respective Practice Areas

10/22/2010

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 22, 2010) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Best Lawyers, a respected, peer-reviewed legal publication, has named shareholders Richard Hackett and Clinton Schroeder “Lawyers of the Year” in Minneapolis in Employment Benefits Law and Non-Profit/Charities Law, respectively.

After more than a quarter century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 17th edition of “The Best Lawyers in America” (2011) is based on more than 3.1 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.

The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high ratings in the Best Lawyers’ surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.

Dick Hackett, cochair of Gray Plant Mooty’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice group, is well known in the Twin Cities for his experience with employee benefit matters. He frequently lectures for Minnesota Continuing Legal Education and the Minnesota Institute of Legal Education on employee benefit matters, and currently serves on a Great Lake States regional council that advises the IRS on issues related to employee benefit plans.

Clint Schroeder is a highly regarded and well-known charitable planning and tax attorney. He has practiced with Gray Plant Mooty since 1957 and has been named one of “The Best Lawyers in America” for 32 consecutive years. Clint has given his time and talents to countless community organizations over the years, and he is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Minnesota Planned Giving Council Clinton A. Schroeder Distinguished Service Award (named in his honor).
