Gray Plant Mooty’s Investigations and White Collar Crime group invites you to join us for a luncheon featuring Professor Richard Painter, former Chief Ethics Attorney for President George W. Bush. Professor Painter will discuss the key parallels between government and business ethics, and the slippery slope to corruption.

Professor Painter is the S. Walter Richey Professor in Corporate Law at the University of Minnesota Law School. He has been active in numerous law reform efforts aimed at deterring various types of corporate fraud and improving ethics of corporate executives and lawyers. He is the author of several books, including Getting the Government America Deserves: How Ethics Reform Can Make a Difference.

Currently, Professor Painter is co-counsel in a lawsuit against President Trump alleging, among other things, that President Trump is in violation of the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Professor Painter has written many op-ed articles about this topic which have been appeared in The New York TimesThe Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times.

Following Professor Painter’s presentation, we will continue with further discussion and questioning led by Gray Plant Mooty attorneys Susan Gaertner and Eric Yaffe.
