Gray Plant Mooty Elects New Shareholders for 2019
MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 7, 2019) – Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that seven attorneys have been elected new shareholders of the firm. They are as follows:
Aaron Crandall—Crandall focuses on providing general counsel to entrepreneurs and private, family owned companies and advising business clients on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, technology, privacy, and intellectual property. Crandall’s engagements range from representing startup companies in formation, choice of entity, and financing to assisting private equity groups in evaluating and structuring strategic acquisitions. Crandall represents clients across a range of industries, including medical, dental, and professional practices; private equity and venture capital; manufacturing; printing; information technology; online- and internet-based companies. He is based in the firm’s St. Cloud office.
Lindsey Day—Day focuses her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, general business law, corporate governance, closely held and family-owned businesses, and emerging companies. She regularly counsels buyers and sellers in stock and asset transactions and has extensive experience advising businesses on legal issues, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporate restructurings, private placements, succession planning, and women-owned business certifications. Day serves clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, professional services, and technology. She is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Julia Dayton Klein—Dayton Klein centers her practice around business litigation, intellectual property, and regulatory matters to help businesses of all sizes resolve legal challenges in the manner that best serves their existing strategic objectives. She counsels clients on a wide range of matters, including regulatory compliance, patent infringement, copyright, trademarks, advertising, public relations management, product launches, marketing strategies, and mergers and acquisitions. She is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Richard Landon—Landon is a business litigator and appellate specialist concentrating in the areas of franchise and distribution, antitrust, and intellectual property. Clients value Landon’s diverse range of litigation experience and his eagerness to take on complex legal issues regardless of the area of law. He also represents clients in a variety of shareholder, unfair competition, and insurance policy coverage disputes. He is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Marya Robben—Robben practices in the areas of estate planning, estate and gift taxation, fiduciary representation, probate administration, trust formation and administration, and guardianship and conservatorship law. Robben frequently writes and speaks on estate planning and probate matters, advanced planning matters (including generation skipping transfer tax planning and intentionally defective grantor trusts), marital deduction planning, disclaimer planning, business succession planning, and navigating fiduciary duties to other professionals. She is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Justin Sallis—Sallis litigates commercial disputes on behalf of corporations and individuals, with a particular focus on franchise-related matters. He regularly counsels and represents some of the nation’s most prominent franchisors on matters central to the integrity of their brands and systems, including trademark infringement, breach of in-term and post-termination covenants against competition, violations of brand standards, claims arising from pre-contractual disclosures and representations, and vicarious liability issues. Sallis practices in federal and state courts and in domestic and international arbitrations. He also represents corporations and individuals in connection with internal and government investigations. He is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
Edward Tully—Tully practices in the areas of estate planning, trust administration, business planning matters, and corporate law. He has extensive experience in estate planning, business succession planning, and asset protection planning. Tully implements sophisticated estate planning techniques, including intentionally defective grantor trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and the utilization of closely held business interests and valuation discounts. In addition, Tully drafts and negotiates partnership agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and asset purchase agreements. He is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
