1/25/2024

CHICAGO (January 25, 2024) — Illinois Super Lawyers named Lathrop GPM Intellectual Property attorney Richard Beem to its 2024 list. Additionally, Lathrop GPM Partner and Matt Walker and associate Alex Shtraym were named "Rising Stars" for 2024.

Beem has more than 30 years of experience in patent law across a range of technologies and industries in the U.S. and abroad, and enjoys working with each client to serve their business and to protect their intellectual property. From preparation, filing and prosecution of patent applications to litigation, trials and appeals, Beem assists clients in securing their intellectual property rights — and, more importantly, contributes to the success of their innovations and ultimately to the growth of their business.

Walker’s practice includes all areas of environmental law, including litigation, regulatory compliance, and assistance with corporate transactions. Walker utilizes his background working for environmental regulatory agencies to advise a wide range of clients on environmental matters under federal and state law, and in judicial and administrative forums.

Shtraym helps businesses create strategic advantages by protecting valuable intellectual property. He has worked with executives and product design teams to obtain patents, to maintain patent portfolios, to protect trademarks and to avoid or minimize exposure to the intellectual property rights of others. Shtraym has represented clients in various phases of both prosecution and litigation.
