Lathrop GPM LLP Partner Lisa Hillman Appointed Chair of Women in Bio Boston Chapter

Hillman will serve as chair of Greater Boston Area Chapter of Women in Bio for 2024

BOSTON (August 8, 2023) – Lathrop GPM LLP is proud to share that Partner Lisa Hillman, Ph.D. has been named chair of the Greater Boston Chapter of Women in Bio for 2024. With more than 700 members, the Greater Boston Chapter is the organization's largest. Hillman has served as Vice Chair since 2022.

"We are so proud of Lisa for her continued leadership in the Boston biotech community," said Brian Trinque, Ph.D., Partner in Charge of the firm’s Boston office. "Biotech is a large part of what we do in our Boston office, and Lisa has been an excellent ambassador to this community for our firm."

Hillman is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. With more than two decades of experience in intellectual property law, her practice encompasses domestic and foreign patent procurement. She also provides strategic patent counseling including patent portfolio management, patent validity opinions, infringement opinions, freedom-to-operate opinions, and due diligence reviews. She has broad technical experience in the areas of biotechnology, human gene therapy, mRNA and siRNA technologies, medical devices, and immunotherapy.

Women in Bio was established in 2002 to help women entrepreneurs and executives build successful bioscience-related businesses. The founders wanted to provide a forum for women to come together to celebrate and support each other's success and created a dynamic and invaluable forum. With a membership base of more than 3,000, the organization now has chapters throughout North America led by more than 600 volunteers.

Founded in 2012, the Greater Boston Chapter of Women in Bio is located in the world’s leading biotechnology supercluster. With more than 700 members, WIB-Greater Boston welcomes women working in the life sciences to events created to support professional development, leadership, and mentoring.
