Three Lathrop Gage Partners Recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 17, 2016) – Lathrop Gage Partners Justin Nichols, Michael Adrian and Justin Poplin were recognized this week among Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s 2016 Up & Coming class.

With three honorees, Lathrop Gage had more attorneys recognized than any other law firm in Missouri. Nichols was selected as a “Law Firm Leader” while Adrian and Poplin earned “Up & Coming” recognition.

“We’re very proud of this group of attorneys,” said Lathrop Gage CEO Mark Bluhm. “Their recognition confirms the skills and leadership they have demonstrated in the community and at our firm.”

Co-chair of the Banking and Creditor’s Rights Litigation team, Nichols focuses his practice on defensive banking litigation and lender liability claims. Most recently, he was part of a team that prevailed in arguing for a novel interpretation of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act before the United States Supreme Court.

Adrian, a Partner on the Corporate Practice team, counsels clients in highly regulated industries like healthcare and gaming. He concentrates his practice on transactional matters and corporate governance issues, and he has experience serving clients ranging from start-ups to publicly held companies.

Poplin is the Department Chairman of Prosecution and Transactions for the Intellectual Property Division. He also is a registered patent attorney and has experience managing intellectual property portfolios and counseling clients regarding patents, trademark, copyright, trade secret, licensing and confidentiality issues.

The Missouri Lawyers Weekly Up & Coming awards recognize legal professionals who are 40 years old or younger, or within the first 10 years of practice, who demonstrate excellence and show potential to make a difference in the legal profession and their communities.
