Lathrop GPM Welcomes Ian Furman to Business Transactions Group in Dallas

DALLAS (July 11, 2023) — Lathrop GPM is pleased to announce that Ian Furman has joined the firm as counsel in the Business Transactions Practice Group and Dallas office.

Furman brings over 12 years of experience advising clients on domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He focuses on energy industry transactions, particularly liquefied natural gas projects and upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions, including joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, unitizations, and pipeline acquisitions and divestitures. Furman also advises clients on matters involving renewable energy assets, including the construction and operation of solar, wind, and biomass facilities.

Furman serves as a fellow for the Houston Bar Foundation and the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation. He joins Lathrop GPM from the Houston office of a global law firm and earned a J.D. and M.B.A from Tulane Law School and Tulane University, respectively, in 2011 and a B.A. from Rice University in 2005.

Lathrop GPM’s Business Transactions group includes more than 55 practitioners in offices across the U.S. including Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Overland Park, St. Cloud and St. Louis. In 2022, the group handled more than 160 transactions across various industries and were diverse in size and deal type.
