Nancy Sher Cohen Recognized as a Top 100 Lawyer by the Los Angeles Business Journal for Her Remarkable Legal Achievements
LOS ANGELES (JUNE 2, 2023) — Lathrop GPM Partner Nancy Sher Cohen was recently honored as not only one of the Top 100 Lawyers by the Los Angeles Business Journal but also received their esteemed Specialty Award of Legal Excellence. This prestigious recognition acknowledges Cohen's contributions to the legal profession and her instrumental role in expanding Lathrop GPM’s Los Angeles office while elevating the national visibility of the firm’s Insurance Recovery & Counseling Group.
Cohen's reputation as a leading authority in insurance coverage litigation is well-deserved. She has served as lead counsel in prosecuting numerous insurance coverage lawsuits, resulting in recoveries exceeding $1.5 billion. Her remarkable track record exemplifies her unwavering dedication to her clients' interests and her exceptional legal acumen.
Cohen's notable achievements encompass a range of legal endeavors. She has played a crucial role in representing Holocaust survivors in their claims against insurance carriers, served as counsel for the lender involved in prosecuting insurance coverage claims for the World Trade Center towers, and provided advisory services on insurance matters for Los Angeles' successful bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics. Additionally, Cohen has offered representation to homeowners and real estate developers affected by the Thomas Fire and the subsequent mudslides in the Montecito area. Cohen has a long-time commitment to community service, serving on the Boards of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, Loyola Law School and Bet Tzedek Legal Services and is an active member of the American College of Coverage Counsel.
