Three Lathrop GPM Attorneys Honored in Missouri Lawyers Up & Coming Awards

8/25/2022

(August 2022) – Three Lathrop GPM attorneys have been recognized by Missouri Lawyers Media in its Up & Coming award series: David Frye, Alana McMullin and Brooke Parsons.

Partner David Frye received the Mentor award, one of only two to receive this honor for 2022. Frye is Chair of the firm’s Professional Development Committee, a role he has held since the fall of 2017. In this capacity, he oversees the firm’s formal mentee program, ensuring that mentor and mentee relationships are constructive and that associates are receiving support and guidance as they grow their practices and embark on the path to partnership. He has been a formal mentor to associates and summer associates throughout his career and, in addition, Frye is an informal mentor across the firm, going above and beyond to ensure associates at the firm are equipped with the tools to succeed and feel valued.

Associate Alana McMullin is one of two to receive the Pro Bono award for 2022. McMullin has dedicated the majority of her legal practice to representing wrongfully convicted individuals and is a leader of the firm’s wrongful conviction and innocence pro bono team, working closely with the Midwest Innocence Project. She is also a member of Lathrop GPM’s Civil Rights Insurance Recovery team, where she litigates high-profile § 1983 civil rights claims on behalf of wrongfully convicted exonerees.

Associate Brooke Parsons has been named a 2022 Up & Coming attorney. A litigator, Parsons dedicates her practice to a broad range of matters such as commercial contractual disputes, closely held business disputes, employment litigation, election challenges, real estate disputes, and 42 U.S.C, § 1983 litigation. An adaptive and innovative leader, she has been at the forefront of embracing technology, like Zoom, to ensure cases can move forward and co-authored the Bloomberg Law article, “Tips for Conducting a Virtual Arbitration Hearing.”
