Lathrop GPM Partner Dorraine Larison Receives ATHENA Award

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (Sept. 4, 2020) – Lathrop GPM Partner Dorraine A. Larison has been named the 2020 ATHENA Award recipient from the Central Minnesota Community Foundation and its Women’s Fund. The ATHENA award is a lifetime achievement award recognizing “exceptional women leaders who inspire others to achieve excellence in their professional and personal lives.”

Based in the firm’s St. Cloud, Minnesota office, Larison concentrates her legal practice in the areas of bankruptcy, debtor/creditor and employment law. In addition to her extensive experience counseling banks, other creditors and business clients, Larison has dedicated a significant amount of her time to working on pro bono matters. Larison served on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee for nearly 20 years and was instrumental in establishing the firm’s outstate Minnesota debtor/creditor clinics with various legal aid entities.

Larison has also actively supported numerous community organizations throughout her career. In addition to her longstanding service to CMCF and its Women’s Fund, Larison is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Stearns History Museum and a member of the Board of Directors for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid and the Hennepin Theatre Trust. Larison has served in several leadership positions within the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Law Section. Also, she is a member of the Lathrop GPM Women’s Initiative Network.

This St. Cloud ATHENA Award is part of an international awards program that began in 1982 to honor individuals who excel in their professions, give back to their communities and help raise up other leaders, especially women.
