Environmental partner Ally Cunningham was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Global PFAS Guidance Fuels Debate as EPA Tap Water Limits Loom,” [SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED], which analyzed the different PFAS guidance that has been issued by various agencies, including The World Health Organization, the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation rule, and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine report from earlier this year. In the article, Cunningham comments on how the “huge discrepancy” in the various recommendations deserve the attention of the regulatory community and EPA. “The US agency, for example, pointed to concerns about cancer and heart problems in its interim advisories. Yet the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine said the evidence for those and some other health effects attributed to PFAS are weak,” she said.
