Star Tribune Article Quotes Julia Dayton Klein Regarding Voting Rights Lawsuit

10/20/2020

Political Advocacy & Election Law Partner Julia Dayton Klein was quoted in the Star Tribune article, “Federal Lawsuit Filed To Halt Firm Hiring Armed Guards for Minnesota Polling Sites.” Julia represents the Minnesota chapters of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the League of Women Voters in a federal lawsuit against Atlas Aegis, a Tennessee-based company that sought to hire armed security to position at Minnesota polling places during the general election. "The threat of privately funded, heavily armed, militias prowling polling sites is a direct assault on the Voting Rights Act and our democracy," Julia said in the Complaint.
