Presented via live webinar.

When it comes to income taxes, Minnesota has been aptly described as “Hotel Minnesota”—you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Despite the reputation, with careful planning, it is possible to establish a new tax residency without saying goodbye to Minnesota forever.

In this one-hour webinar, attorneys Matt Shea, Susan Gaertner, and Jim Thomson will review the rules governing change of domicile for income tax purposes, what factors the Minnesota Department of Revenue and the courts look at when deciding whether you are a Minnesota tax resident, and some of the key considerations to take into account when making a move. We will also look at how to prepare for and respond to a residency audit, and what to do if litigation ensues.

One hour of CLE credit will be applied for in Kansas, Minnesota and Missouri.
