Sean P. Whalen

Sean Whalen focuses his practice in the energy sector, working primarily on the preparation of acquisition and drilling and division order title opinions. Sean has experience researching, analyzing and interpreting documents affecting the title of mineral interest to assist clients with the acquisition, divestiture and development of property. He has also reviewed title opinions related to oil, gas, coal and other mineral interests for properties, and has experience with large-scale due diligence, an integral step to identify and offer solutions to issues for multi-million-dollar transactions.

Prior to joining Lathrop GPM, Sean served as a title agent for a national land management firm, where he provided legal interpretation and analysis of various deeds and leases to determine ownership, encumbrances and verify legal descriptions of property.
