Beth Knodel is an employment associate at Lathrop GPM, where she advises companies on a wide range of employment law issues. This includes guidance on hiring practices, terminations, performance management, classification issues, wage-and-hour compliance and leaves of absence, as well as WARN analysis.

Beth has extensive experience drafting employment-related documents such as offer letters, release agreements, employee handbooks, bonus plans, mediation briefs and position statements. She counsels internal human resources staff on workplace investigations and conducts investigations as an external attorney investigator. Her experience extends to training managers and employees on topics including performance management, sexual harassment prevention and reasonable accommodations. Furthermore, she handles responses to document requests, including subpoenas, personnel file, and payroll records requests, negotiates demand letters, and pre-litigation settlements. Beth also represents companies in claims brought by government agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Civil Rights Department and the California Labor Commissioner’s Office.

Prior to joining Lathrop GPM, Beth was an employment associate at another California firm where she focused on similar matters. She also gained valuable experience through several clerkships. She served in Certified Law Clerk positions at both the Criminal & Juvenile Justice Clinic in San Francisco, and at the Santa Clara County Public Defender in San Jose, California.
