When asked…
Why did you become a lawyer?
I grew up in a family where no one had ever gone to college. I was good at school and sports and those attributes enabled me to go to college. I witnessed a friend’s brother who was a lawyer and a role model. Then I realized that a career in law would allow me to create, design and develop ideas that could enhance opportunities for other people– it was a perfect fit for me.
What do you do outside of work?
One of my greatest joys outside of work is golfing and coaching our seven-year-old grandson’s baseball team in Kansas City. I’ve always been a sports person, having played football in college. I coached both of my kids sports teams until they were on school teams and now, I am getting the chance to do it again with my grandkids. I just love it.
