Cassie Doutt is an associate supporting clients primarily within the firm’s Franchise & Distribution practice group. Her practice focuses on franchise and distribution litigation, and she has experience with state and federal franchise laws, intellectual property rights, unfair competition, California employment laws, defamation claims, appellate litigation, and commercial transactions in SaaS technology.

Cassie earned her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she notably worked with other UCI law students to create and introduce a new California State Senate Select Committee on the Growing Impact of Artificial Intelligence. As a second-year law student, Cassie further developed her advocacy skills at the UCI Law Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic, where she argued in Kern County Superior Court as a Press, Freedom, and Transparency Clinical Student. Cassie also served as a law clerk in the Contracts and Intellectual Property Division at an international digital transformation solutions company, supporting senior counsel in the area of commercial transactions.

Cassie is passionate about helping franchisors protect and achieve their business goals. She developed this client-centric approach while advising internal business teams at a prominent Silicon Slopes-based technology company on a variety of legal issues in support of existing services, new product initiatives, and contract negotiations. She further understands those goals through her most recent experience as an associate at a Orange County law firm specializing in business litigation.

In her free time, Cassie enjoys swim training, reading historical non-fiction, watercolor painting, gardening and conducting research and development for her personal cookbook.
