Alison Auxter serves as Lathrop GPM’s Deputy General Counsel, where she focuses on risk and loss management and managing other firm-related legal matters coordinated through the office of general counsel. She brings extensive experience from her tenure at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

During her time at the CFTC, Alison served as a senior trial attorney and was involved in a wide range of enforcement matters, including insider trading and financial fraud. Her work in these matters involved investigating and litigating violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC regulations, and coordinating with the Department of Justice in parallel criminal proceedings.

Alison rejoins the firm after her time at the CFTC, having previously served as an attorney at Lathrop GPM from 2006 to 2015. Additionally, she is an alumnus of the firm’s summer associate program. During her prior tenure, Alison served on the firm’s Professional Responsibility Committee, acted as Assistant General Counsel and advised fellow attorneys regarding ethical issues.

As a mom of three, free time is sparse – but when she has it – Alison loves to play tennis, read and garden.
