Abe represents clients in transactional and litigation matters, closely attending to their individual needs. He internalizes their challenges as his own. His experience includes bringing closure to new markets tax credit transactions, framing legal strategies through extensive legal analysis, and drafting court orders, pleadings, and briefs.

Abe represents community development entities, institutional investors, real estate developers, brokerage firms, and financial institutions. He maintains a composed, even-keeled attitude to navigate through both adversity and success. Abe makes it a priority to turn challenges into opportunities. He utilizes clear, responsive communication with his clients and believes listening first is key. His fulfillment on a daily basis flows from connecting with his clients, understanding their perspectives, and helping them secure favorable outcomes.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as legislative correspondent to a United States Senator, writing correspondence and memorandum, preparing for hearings, and determining legislative priorities. Abe was also law clerk to the Honorable Judge Brian Wimes of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri where he worked to help resolve motions in over 120 civil and criminal cases. Prior to clerking, Abe was an intern to the Honorable Judge Thomas Hardiman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

After playing baseball in college, Abe coached in the East Cambridge Little League Baseball program throughout law school. Abe continues to coach at the Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy to build up and motivate the youth of the community. He emphasizes the significance of a process-centered approach to help them recognize, trust in, and maximize their potential athletically and professionally.

  • Represented a NMTC Investor through all stages in multiple NMTC Exits, including closing the subsidiary allocatee acquisitions, subsidiary allocatee dissolutions, and sales of the NMTC Investor’s interest.
  • Secured a $7 million breach of contract summary judgment on behalf of a Financial Institution.
  • Negotiated a sponsorship agreement with a professional sports team on behalf of a Midwest business.
  • Secured favorable settlements for a multinational engine company facing double payment liability claims related to freight transportation charges.
  • Defended a Midwest business against collection demands asserted by national internet service provider, causing ISP to cease collection activity.
  • Secured a favorable settlement for national dairy marketing cooperative in collection suit.
  • Secured dismissal of preference claims on behalf of national aviation insurance brokerage firm.
