The top prosecutor in Marion County, Kansas has agreed to withdraw a search warrant and concede all seized computers and cellphones obtained in the search back to the newspaper.
Lathrop GPM Partner Bernie Rhodes represents The Record, and called the county’s decision to withdraw its search warrant and return the seized items “a promising first step,”
“However, it does nothing to recompense the paper for the violation of its First Amendment rights when the search was conducted.” Rhodes said.
