KANSAS CITY, MO (October 29, 2025) — Lathrop GPM LLP is pleased to announce that Ben Struby, Partner in Charge of the firm’s Kansas City office, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, by vote of the Board on October 27, 2025.

Struby, a business litigator with a focus on bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights, brings to the Chamber a pragmatic legal and strategic perspective on regional growth, capital access, and business resilience. His appointment continues Lathrop GPM’s long-standing tradition of civic leadership in Kansas City, following in the footsteps of former Kansas City Partner in Charge Jean Paul Bradshaw, who also served on the Chamber’s Board.

“It’s great to see Ben continue Lathrop GPM’s tradition of leadership within the Kansas City Chamber,” said Bradshaw. “He brings a practical, business-minded perspective and a genuine passion for the region’s success, as well as a familiarity with the Chamber’s role from his participation in its Centurions leadership program. Ben’s insight into how companies navigate challenges, and his ability to connect people and ideas, will be a tremendous asset to the Chamber and to the broader Kansas City business community.”

Struby said he is honored to represent the firm and contribute to the Chamber’s mission. “I am excited beyond words to have the opportunity to collaborate with the great community leaders and advocates who make up the Board,” he said. He added that his background in restructuring and creditors’ rights will bring a unique perspective to the Chamber’s work. “My practice has taught me that even when one party may be right legally, the best outcomes often come from meaningful dialogue that allows all sides to find solutions they can live with,” Struby explained. “That mindset can help as the Chamber continues to advance initiatives around growth, capital access, and small and midsize business resilience.”

Struby joined Lathrop GPM in 2018 and earlier this year was named Partner in Charge of the Kansas City office, where he leads the office’s strategic initiatives, including a move to a new building next year, and client service efforts. A 2025 NextGen Leader honoree by the Kansas City Business Journal, he is also a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Centurions Leadership Program (Class of 2024). His Centurions experience, he said, reshaped his understanding of Kansas City’s opportunities and challenges. “Even though I have lived here nearly my entire life, the program opened my eyes to how much I still had to learn about our community,” Struby reflected. “It gave me new appreciation for the people and partnerships that drive progress in our region.”

Struby also hopes to help the Chamber continue its focus on inclusive growth. “Job creation and educational access are critical to Kansas City’s continued progress,” he said. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members to support initiatives that strengthen opportunities and ensure the region’s growth benefits everyone.”
