Lathrop GPM Partner Laurie Huotari was recently featured by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal on her return to the firm and what made her make the change.

In an interview, Huotari said she was drawn to Lathrop GPM because of the firm’s local support network. Lathrop GPM’s Minneapolis office has 84 local attorneys, compared to Stoel Rives’ 17. They are the Twin Cities eighth and 44th-largest firms, respectively, based on local number of attorneys.

“Having that type of a support for a Minnesota-based corporate practice is important to me, and it will help me to be able to develop and grow my practice,” she said. “I’m just really excited about having associate and partner support in Minnesota.”

Further, Huotari said she is looking forward to working at a firm with a larger female presence.

“One thing that is very important to me as a woman is growing my practice and helping other women to grow their practices,” she said. “As I walk around the halls, there’s just there’s so many women at Lathrop, and it’s very refreshing, so I’m really excited about that aspect.”
