She is widely regarded for her deep technical knowledge in areas such as gene therapy, mRNA and siRNA technologies, diagnostics, and immunotherapy.

Dr. Hillman earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Florida, where she was a USDA Predoctoral Fellow.
