Minneapolis, MN (October 15, 2025) — Lathrop GPM is proud to announce that two of its attorneys have been recognized by Finance & Commerce newspaper for their leadership and contributions to Minnesota’s legal and business communities.
Steven Kutscheid, Partner in the firm’s Business Transactions practice group, received the prestigious Minnesota ICON award. This honor is reserved for distinguished professionals whose careers have left a lasting impact on the state’s business and legal communities. Kutscheid was recognized for his decades of leadership, mentorship and professional excellence, joining a select group of 17 honorees celebrated for embodying what it means to be an icon. Kutscheid concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning, commercial law, tax and business planning for individuals and businesses. He has represented clients in federal and state tax audits at all levels.
Jake Lorence, Counsel in the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group, was named one of Minnesota’s Rising Young Professionals. This recognition celebrates emerging leaders who are redefining leadership through hard work, creativity and a commitment to excellence. Lorence was selected as part of the seventh annual class of honorees, chosen by a panel of independent judges for his accomplishments and promise as a future leader in the legal field. In his legal practice, he has extensive experience conducting and advising on internal investigations, drafting and negotiating employment agreements and advising on employee relations issues throughout the employee lifecycle. In addition, he has litigated employment matters in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.
