MINNEAPOLIS, MN (September 2, 2025) — Lathrop GPM is proud to announce that Associate Lu Li has been named the recipient of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s (MSBA) prestigious 2024-2025 Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award. Li will be formally recognized in the MSBA’s New Lawyers publication this month and at its Annual New Lawyers Leadership Conference on November 7.
The “Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award” is presented annually to a new lawyer who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the Minnesota State Bar Association or a local bar affiliate. This esteemed award celebrates emerging leaders who actively contribute to the growth and vitality of the legal community through their involvement and commitment.
Li, an attorney in Lathrop GPM’s Corporate Law practice, is an active committed member of the MSBA, the Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA), and the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association (MNAPABA). Li’s active engagement in these organizations demonstrates her dedication to both professional growth and service to others. Within the MSBA, she participates in a variety of events, notably those organized by the New Lawyers Section, where she brings a fresh and diverse perspective to discussions, further enhancing the exchange of ideas among early-career attorneys. In her role with the HCBA, Li is a strong advocate for fostering connections among new lawyers. She regularly attends events and uses the opportunities to network with colleagues while also contributing her perspective on how young lawyers can succeed and grow in the profession.
In addition to this bar service, Li advises clients on an array of corporate matters. Li works with corporate clients of all sizes, from start-up companies to multinational enterprises. Her background in finance and understanding of the business side of transactions allows her to provide keen insights with legal research to support it. Prior to joining Lathrop GPM, Li was selected for the HCBA’s 1L Minority Clerkship program, where she clerked for Judge Charlene W. Hatcher at the Hennepin County District Court.
