Kansas City, Mo. (August 19, 2026) – Missouri Lawyers Media named Lathrop GPM Associate Dara Alvarado to its 2026 class of Diversity & Inclusion honorees. Alvarado is one of 11 individuals recognized for “significantly advancing diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.”

Alvarado has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion and opportunity throughout the legal profession and the greater Kansas City community. A member of Lathrop GPM’s Diverse Professionals Network, she supports underrepresented attorneys through mentorship, professional development and community-building initiatives. She also is a current participant in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinders Program and has served as a member, vice president and president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City.

In addition to her advocacy and mentorship efforts, Alvarado has developed a successful legal practice. An associate in Lathrop GPM’s Business Transactions practice group, she has served as lead associate on complex premium insurance finance transactions totaling more than $5.9 billion.

Alvarado was appointed by Mayor Quinton Lucas to the Board of Directors of Visit KC and later appointed to the Kansas City Regional Destination Development Foundation, which supports tourism, workforce development and economic opportunity across the region. Additional recognitions include being named to Ingram’s “20 in Their Twenties” in 2025 and Lawyers of Color’s “Hot List” In 2023.
