Zachary G. LaFramboise
Zach LaFramboise is an Intellectual Property associate in the firm's Boulder office. He focuses primarily on drafting and prosecuting patent applications as well as managing complex patent portfolios, chiefly within the electronics and computer-related arts.
Zach manages all stages of patent preparation and prosecution across hundreds of unique patent families including domestic, foreign, and international applications, in areas such as wireless communications, satellite communications, computer processors, antenna design, software and electronic circuits. He has personally drafted over 200 patent applications.
Zach also has significant experience working with complex technical standards, standards submissions, and other industry documents to help craft patent applications that cover standards essential patent scope. In addition to the numerous “standards essential” patents he has written and prosecuted, Zach also edited a legal textbook dedicated to the subject.
Zach also prides his pro bono work, where he has established and has grown a relationship with a local legal laid organization – Boulder County Legal Services. With BCLS, Zach provides counseling and representation to low income and other qualified Coloradans seeking assistance with civil legal needs. Through this work, Zach has gained first-chair trial and litigation experience.
