Natalie Thomas is an associate attorney at Lathrop GPM, where she focuses her practice on litigation matters related to construction law and real estate. She advises clients on numerous matters from pre-litigation through settlement, trial or appeals. , Natalie routinely drafts pleadings, conducts discovery and e-discovery, evaluates alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, brings and defends motions with the court, and provides oral advocacy to her clients in both court and arbitration proceedings. Her experience also includes providing transactional advice to clients regarding contract documents, including the management and drafting of project-related documents, and the legal implications of contractual provisions.

Prior to joining the firm, Natalie gained extensive litigation experience at a previous firm, where she managed general insurance defense litigation matters in the areas of employment law, health law, worker’s compensation, construction litigation, civil liability and medical malpractice. Natalie later moved to a role in which she primarily worked exclusively in the construction and real estate sector where she represented homeowners, project owners and contractors in litigation-related matters and advised clients on carrying out new projects and deals. 

Natalie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where she was a Giles Rich Moot Court Regional Finalist and National Semi-Finalist. She also holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology with a Chemistry Emphasis and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is admitted to practice in Minnesota and the United States District Court of Minnesota, with Missouri admission pending.

Natalie is an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law for the intellectual property moot court program. Natalie is a co-coach of the Giles Rich Sutherland teams and has successfully coached multiple student teams through the Nationals stage. In Spring 2025, Natalie, along with her intellectual property colleagues, was awarded the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Professional Preparation for her commitment to preparing future generations of litigators and providing real world experience to law students. Natalie also serves as the Vice Chair for the UST Law IP and Data Privacy Committee which is committed to connecting law students to the practicing community and providing scholarship and mentorship to students.
