Shelly Buchanan is a seasoned paralegal in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group, bringing over a decade of experience in environmental litigation, business litigation, tort litigation, and pro bono family law. Since beginning her paralegal career in 2012, Shelly has developed deep expertise in managing complex cases from inception through trial and appeal.

She is highly skilled in both state and federal court practice, document analysis, all aspects of discovery, and is an integral part of trial teams—handling everything from witness and exhibit list preparation to coordinating expert and lay witnesses, managing trial subpoenas, and presenting evidence using OnCue. Shelly supports attorneys and clients at every stage of litigation, drafting pleadings and discovery, preparing deposition materials, and managing expert data.

Shelly joined the firm in November 2021. Originally from Southern California, she now calls the Midwest home. She’s been married for 30 years and is a proud grandmother to two young grandchildren, Rowan and Henry.
