I see litigation as a real-life version of a “Choose Your Own Adventure” story, where every decision shapes the outcome. My role is to guide clients through those choices, helping them make informed decisions that align with their goals. I love diving into the nuts and bolts of a business and encouraging clients to explain their story in a way that resonates with someone unfamiliar with their industry—because, ultimately, that’s who will decide the case. This approach has allowed me to successfully represent clients nationwide and help them navigate complex legal challenges.

Kate O’Hara Gasper represents clients through all stages of business disputes, from pre-suit advocacy to discovery, depositions and trial. She is known for resolving complex legal matters efficiently, helping clients avoid costly litigation while achieving favorable outcomes. When a trial is necessary, Kate has a proven track record of success, including a case recognized as the #1 Defense Verdict of 2018 by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.

Kate works closely with accounting firms, staffing agencies, insurance brokerages and freight and logistics organizations of all sizes, providing strategic legal counsel across a range of areas, including:

  • Accountant liability & risk management
  • General business & complex commercial litigation
  • Insurance recovery & counseling
  • Litigation
  • Non-compete, non-solicit, trade secrets and other restrictive covenants

Her deep commitment to understanding her clients’ businesses allows her to develop tailored legal strategies that align with their goals. Her hands-on approach and dedication to delivering practical solutions make her a trusted advisor for businesses navigating legal challenges.

When asked…

Why did you become a lawyer?

I became an attorney because I saw how much my dad loved being a business litigator when I was growing up. Watching him, I could tell that being part of the legal profession brought him a lot of satisfaction, mainly because no two days were ever the same. That’s become my favorite part of the job, too—every day is different, and I’m always learning something new. I’m passionate about helping clients feel comfortable navigating their legal disputes.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on the bleachers or sidelines with my husband, cheering on one of our two boys as they chase a ball. I also enjoy golfing, reading and sharing book recommendations with friends and family. It’s a great way to stay connected and discover new stories.
