Emma Halling is an associate and member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution group. She focuses on complex business disputes, representing clients in a wide range of industries. Emma has extensive experience in franchise litigation, advocating for franchisors in disputes over enforcement of franchise agreement obligations against franchisees and defending against state franchise law enforcement actions.

Additionally, Emma has experience handling appeals, post-conviction litigation, and high-profile Special Victims Unit trials. She spent time with the Kansas Supreme Court, Kansas Court of Appeals, and the Douglas County DA’s office. Emma has briefed appeals to the Kansas Court of Appeals and has argued a case before the same court.

While earning her B.A. at the University of Kansas she was Interim Student Body President in 2014 and Student Body Vice President from 2013-14. During law school, Emma served as Senior Executive Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Employment & Labor Law and a member of the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law, & Justice.
