Brooke Parsons is a litigator with experience in a range of commerical and business litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Brooke’s dedication to client service is evident as she works diligently to advise her clients and protect their interests througout the litigation process.

Brooke is experienced in all stages of litigation, from drafting initial and responsive pleadings to managing written discovery, handling discovery disputes and conducting depositions. She is also deeply involved in preparing and arguing dispositive motions – where she showcases her sharp written advocacy skills. Brooke’s trial experience is substantial, having served as first and second chair in multiple bench and jury trials.

Brooke also specializes in appellate work and has served as both trial and appellate counsel in multiple cases. She has argued before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and has drafted appellate briefs for state and federal courts.

In the media and entertainment area, Brooke has experience representing and advising media clients on the subjects of defamation, open records and open meetings requests. Brooke regularly contributes to the Media Law Resource Center’s annual libel and privacy surveys, capturing important updates and changes in Missouri law.

  • Represented a client in a multi-week jury trial that resulted in a complete defense verdict.
  • Represented individual and business clients in significant appellate proceedings in both federal and state court.
  • Represented business client in a complex several-million-dollar dispute and secured a favorable ruling on summary judgment.
  • Secured favorable summary judgment ruling under Missouri Sunshine Law, which included award of attorney’s fees.
  • Represented a client in a three-day arbitration hearing, conducted completely via Zoom, during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The matter involved a stock purchase agreement dispute following the sale of a closely held business, with a defense verdict being entered for Lathrop GPM’s client.
