Alexandra Bass is a data privacy associate supporting clients primarily within the firm’s Intellectual Property group. Alexandra joined the firm after working as a summer associate in 2022, where she assisted attorneys with various matters, ranging from defamation to wrongful convictions and federal legislation.

Alexandra handles litigation matters with an emphasis on defending privacy claims, including those brought under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and other similar state wiretap and privacy statutes.

Alexandra also advises clients on artificial intelligence and federal and state privacy frameworks, including the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and CIPA. She also handles IP matters including trademark enforcement and domain name disputes.

During law school, Alexandra served as a research assistant to the dean, working on the Restatement Third of Torts: Defamation. In her final year of law school, Alexandra was inducted into The Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization recognizing excellence in advocacy.

Before joining Lathrop GPM, Alexandra interned with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and the ACLU of Oregon, where she focused on protecting First Amendment rights and data privacy.

Alexandra maintains an active pro bono practice as a volunteer attorney for the Student Press Law Center, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
