Dara Alvarado is an associate within the firm’s Business Transactions practice group who focuses her practice in the area of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and business law. She has experience with complex financing transactions, including revolving credit facilities, construction loans and assisting startups from formation through rounds of private financing.

Dara also has experience with the various aspects of acquiring, developing, managing, and disposing of multifamily housing properties that involve various government programs and incentives, including USDA Rural Development Section 515 and 538 loans, low-income housing tax credits, HUD loans, among others. She has assisted with mergers and acquisitions including due diligence investigations, and the purchase and sale of both stock and asset transactions.

While in law school, Dara was co-president of the Hispanic Law Students Association. Dara also served as an intern for the Honorable Stephen R. Bough of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and the Honorable Thomas H. Newton of the Missouri Court of Appeals. Dara was also one of the founders of the UMKC Diverse Student Coalition and assisted and managed the Inaugural Diverse Student Coalition Annual Diversity Banquet to help raise funds for the UMKC Diverse Student Coalition Endowed Scholarship. Currently, Dara serves on the Board of Directors of Visit KC, an economic development organization dedicated to being the heart of the tourism industry in Kansas City, and the Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City.
