Jonathan M. Milette, Ph.D.

Dr. Jonathan M. Milette is a patent agent in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group. Jonathan’s practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution and transactional matters in the area of biotechnologies. As a registered practitioner, he is assisting in the strategic development of intellectual property and the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in the U.S. and abroad for clients ranging from startup companies, universities, and research organizations to large corporations. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for a large national law firm located in Boston.

Jonathan has extensive experience in a number of technologies ranging from antibody, RNA, and small-molecule therapeutics to CRISPR gene editing, immunoassays, and synthetic oligosaccharides. Earlier in his career, Jonathan worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the research group of Professor George Whitesides at Harvard University. His research focused on the development of microfluidic point-of-care devices for the detection of a wide range of animal and human diseases, such as HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, and brucellosis. During his graduate studies at McGill University, Jonathan worked on the synthesis of organic-capped nanomaterials and their dispersion in organic materials for optical applications.

As a research scientist, Jonathan received and managed research funds from various organizations and funding agencies. He also published many scientific research articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at a number of national and international conferences.
