Lori Lea Shelley

Lori Lea Shelley serves as bond counsel for a high volume of municipal bonds, as well as advising clients with matters regarding estates and trusts, probate, corporate and transactional matters. Lori Lea has rated top five bond counsel in Missouri by Refinitiv, formerly Thomson Reuters (a leading information source for the financial, legal, tax/accounting, scientific, healthcare and media markets) for the last three years. She represents school districts, municipalities, cities, counties and other government entities in all aspects of public finance including general obligation, refundings, lease purchase and district tax levy issues, to name a few. Her practice spans a wide range of industries and clients, including individuals, government entities and businesses in the technology, manufacturing and consumer goods industries.

Alongside her public finance practice, Lori Lea routinely represents business clients in regard to their general business and tax planning, including formation and succession planning. She has experience in organizational and succession planning for privately held businesses and insurance financing. Lori Lea‘s transactional planning includes structuring partnerships and limited liability companies, reorganizations, restructuring transactions, use of finance arrangements and shareholder buy-sell agreements.

In addition, Lori Lea has experience counseling clients involved in leveraged buy-outs and private placement securities offerings. This includes the creation of equity and debt financing solutions, debt instruments, investor questionnaires and subscription agreements.
