Alex Reed
Alex is an associate practicing in the Business Transactions Practice Group, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and business law, real estate and development. Alex counsels businesses on legal issues throughout the life of a business, from entity formation and governance to mergers and acquisitions, and across all facets of real estate transactions.
Alex has experience with contract drafting and negotiations, conducting the due diligence process, pre-transaction restructuring, and the drafting of a wide range of ancillary documentation. In his real estate practice, Alex has assisted clients with various acquisition and development issues, including the formation and governance of Community Improvement Districts, Transportation Development Districts, negotiating development incentives with local municipalities, and all aspects of land use planning.
Prior to joining Lathrop GPM, Alex was a corporate accountant for a large multi-national company in Wichita, Kansas, giving him a deep understanding of a company’s internal business operations. During law school, Alex was an active participant and continues to be active in the Transactional Law program, and he was awarded the Robert E. Edmonds Award in Corporation & Securities Law.
