Joshua D. Powers
Josh Powers focuses his practice on general corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, entrepreneurial services, and corporate finance. He joined the firm after working as a summer associate in 2018 and 2019, and as a winter law clerk in 2019, where he assisted with venture capital financing, asset purchase agreements, due diligence, and third-party legal opinions. He also conducted background research for the firm related to the status of blockchain technology in securities law.
During law school, Josh provided business planning services under the supervision of law school faculty to entrepreneurs who demonstrated financial need. He also contributed research on government regulation of commercial drone operations (with an emphasis on delivery drones) and presented his findings in a draft letter to the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s Emerging Technology Board as part of a seminar on law, technology, and public policy.
Prior to joining the firm, Josh worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Teresa James in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
