Kansas Bar Association Publishes David Waters in Kansas Real Estate Handbook

5/21/2009

Lathrop Gage attorney David E. Waters (Real estate - Overland Park) is a featured author in the 2009 edition of the Kansas Real Estate Practice & Procedure Handbook, just published this week by the Kansas Bar Association. Mr. Waters' chapter focuses on deeds, and appears in the publication that has been the definitive guide for real estate law in this region of the country since first being published in 1975.

Mr. Waters represents developers, landowners, and local governments in planning, zoning, and real estate development matters, and regularly appears before planning commissions, boards of zoning appeals, city councils, and other governmental entities. He also advises clients in connection with all general real estate matters, including the negotiation and settlement of purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, development agreements, easements, restrictive covenants, and title matters. Mr. Waters also has experience with tax-deferred "Section 1031" exchanges of real property. He currently is a member of the Westwood Planning Commission and its Board of Zoning Appeals in Westwood, Kan.

The Kansas Real Estate Handbook features "a compilation of the research, advice, and reflections of some of the most capable attorneys in Kansas, and is intended to be a useful resource to all readers, from students to field experts," the bar association says. For this 2009 edition, all 16 previous chapters have been updated and three entirely new chapters have been added to address new subjects in the law.
