Don Dagenais Delivers Series of Lyric Opera Presentations

3/25/2010

As part of his continued involvement in the Kansas City arts community, Lathrop Gage attorney Don Dagenais (Real Estate - Kansas City) will continue to present his introductory in-house preview lectures at the Lyric Opera in Kansas City, this time for the upcoming run of Rigoletto. A devotee of opera for many years, Mr. Dagenais is a long-time board member of the Lyric, and was a co-author with Morton Creditor of Fifty Years of the Lyric Opera: A Great First Act.

Rigoletto was written by Giuseppe Verdi and will be sung in Italian with English subtitles. Mr. Dagenais will deliver the in-house previews at the historic Lyric Theatre before the March 20, 24, 26 and 28th performances. Rigoletto is a tragic story of a cursed, hunchback jester and the deadly fate of his innocent daughter, and is described by the company as a "classic jam-packed with passionate, invigorating music."

Mr. Dagenais has served as President of the boards of both the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, along with other local arts organizations, and is currently the General Counsel of the Lyric Opera. In addition to his representation of nonprofit organizations, he specializes his legal practice in commercial real estate purchase, sale, mortgage, lease, development, management and land use projects for commercial developers, builders, investors, condominium developers, banks, mortgage lenders and property managers. His work includes handling all legal aspects of projects including apartment complexes, shopping centers, office buildings, condominiums, warehouse and industrial projects, retail stores, hospitals and nursing homes.
