Star Tribune Names Gray Plant Mooty One of the Twin Cities’ Top Workplaces

6/21/2010

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (June 21, 2010) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is one of the top 100 workplaces in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, according to an employee-based survey project conducted for the Star Tribune.

The Star Tribune’s first ever “Top Workplaces” special section was published in the newspaper on Sunday, June 20, 2010 and can be found online atwww.startribune.com/topworkplaces.

To identify the Twin Cities’ top 100 workplaces, the Star Tribune and WorkplaceDynamics, an independent employment research company, contacted over 1,000 local employers. To qualify, companies had to have at least 50 employees in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and agree to allow employees to take a confidential survey.

Based solely on the results of this survey—which measured employee opinions on company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, compensation, and benefits—the Star Tribune ranked the top 20 large companies (500 or more employees), the top 35 midsize companies (150 to 499 employees), and the top 45 small companies (50 to 149 employees).

Gray Plant Mooty ranked 7th on the top midsize companies list. The law firm, the oldest in Minneapolis, is one of only three law firms to be named "Top Workplaces" by the Star Tribune—and the only large, full-service firm.
