Gray Plant Mooty’s William Klein Named to City of St. Paul Neighborhood Honor Roll
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (March 29, 2011) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that shareholder William D. Klein has been named to the City of St. Paul Neighborhood Honor Roll.
The Neighborhood Honor Roll is a citywide award to honor people who improve the quality of life in St. Paul. In January of each year, the city’s 17 district councils each nominate up to three individuals, businesses, groups, or entities to be honored.
Klein is a 2011 honoree of the Highland District Council (District 15). Klein was able to step in and help the district council when it had financial problems, was facing a potential lawsuit, and had a leadership crisis. He contributed significant time and effort to ensure that the council was able to continue doing its jobs for the neighborhood and its people. Klein also chairs the City of St. Paul Ford Plant Task Force and previously chaired a committee exploring open spaces for the site.
Klein concentrates his legal practice at Gray Plant Mooty on business and tax law issues, especially those involving closely held business organizations (S and C corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies) and their owners. He is routinely involved in entity selection and reorganization decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and many other types of business and investment transactions, succession planning, and a wide variety of other issues affecting these organizations, businesses, and owners.
Klein received his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Michigan Law School.
