MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (December 27, 2011) — The law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Sheldon H. Klein has been recognized as a leading intellectual property attorney by both Washingtonian magazine and Who’s Who Legal.

Klein is named one of Washington, DC’s best intellectual property attorneys in Washingtonian magazine’s annual “Best Lawyers” list, which is published in the December 2011 edition of the popular magazine. In a city with more than 80,000 lawyers, Klein is one of just 42 DC IP attorneys to make the magazine’s list.

Klein is also ranked as one of the world’s leading trademark lawyers in the 2012 edition of Who’s Who Legal: The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, a research publication that identifies the world’s preeminent attorneys in 31 areas of business law.

Klein is a highly regarded intellectual property and advertising law attorney with Gray Plant Mooty’s Washington, DC, office. He has significant experience in counseling, portfolio management, litigation, licensing, and transactions in the areas of trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and advertising law. Klein assists clients with a wide range of issues, including selection, clearance, and registration of new trademarks, and he frequently conducts intellectual property audits and due diligence investigations. Klein also enforces intellectual property rights via federal district court litigation, appellate litigation, and opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and foreign trademark offices.

Klein represents clients in a variety of industries, including franchise, Internet/e-commerce, advertising, telecommunications, broadcast, entertainment, manufacturing, building, food, pharmaceutical, medical device, banking, insurance, and hospitality. He also serves as a trademark law expert in litigation and arbitration.

Klein is a member—and former officer and board member—of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). He’s also an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA). Klein is a prolific speaker, writer, and media resource. He has been interviewed and quoted on significant intellectual property cases by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, other publications, and on television.
