Gray Plant Mooty’s Gene Hennig Reappointed to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws

1/12/2012

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.  (January 12, 2012) — The Minneapolis law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that attorney Gene H. Hennig has been reappointed as one of Minnesota's commissioners to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) which, as of 2007, was renamed as the Uniform Law Commission (ULC). Hennig was originally appointed the ULC in 2009. Commissioners serve two-year terms.

ULC provides states with non-partisan, well-conceived, and well-drafted legislation that brings clarity and stability to critical areas of state statutory law. Conference members are distinguished practicing lawyers, judges, legislators and legislative staff, and law professors who have been appointed by state governments to research, draft, and promote enactment of uniform state laws in areas of state law where uniformity is desirable and practical.

Hennig is a shareholder at Gray Plant Mooty practicing in the areas of commercial lending, entrepreneurial services, family-owned business, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and securities and corporate governance. He represents business clients throughout the United States who have legal needs ranging from basic business formation issues to complex problems of corporate finance faced by major financial and manufacturing institutions. Most of Hennig’s present client engagements are transactional in nature, requiring both legal expertise and experienced business judgment to bring to successful conclusion.

Prior to joining Gray Plant Mooty, Hennig spent three decades practicing as a business and commercial lawyer at another law firm in Minneapolis. When not practicing law, he can often be found pursuing his “second love” of teaching as an adjunct professor both at William Mitchell College of Law and the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
