MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (April 5, 2012) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that attorneys Ann Burns and Laura Hein have been recognized as two of Minnesota’s top 50 women attorneys, as determined by Super Lawyers, an attorney rating service and magazine. Ann Burns is widely regarded as one of the top estate planning attorneys in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest. The chair of Gray Plant Mooty’s Trust, Estate & Charitable Planning practice group, Burns’ practice focuses on estate and charitable planning, business succession planning, estate and trust administration, and fiduciary and tax litigation. Burns, who is also a certified public accountant (inactive), represents multi-generational families of wealth throughout the country, assisting and guiding them in their relationships with trustees and other advisors. She also represents individual and corporate trustees in estate and tax planning and in fiduciary controversies in state and federal courts. Burns has presented at numerous seminars on topics related to estate planning, trusts, estates, and taxation. Burns received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Repeatedly honored by her peers as one of Minnesota’s top IP lawyers, Laura Hein has more than 25 years of experience assisting clients in building value in their brands and other competitive assets, from their initial stages of development through and including their maintenance, protection, and defense. Laura provides counseling, dispute resolution, and litigation services to businesses and individuals in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, advertising, unfair competition, and related business torts. She has successfully represented many dozens of clients in disputes involving trademark infringement, copyright infringement, false advertising, and related claims in courts across the country, in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in arbitration settings.
