Gray Plant Mooty’s Anderson, Lehmann, Mathison are MSBA Certified Labor and Employment Law Specialists

4/4/2012

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (April 4, 2012) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that attorneys Megan Anderson, Carl Crosby Lehmann, and Mark Mathison are Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) Certified Labor and Employment Law Specialists.

The certified specialist designation, which is administered by the MSBA and approved by the State Board of Legal Certification, is earned by leading attorneys who have completed a rigorous approval process, including an examination in the specialty area, peer review, and documented experience. Certified attorneys have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill, and integrity in their specific field and can use the designation of specialist to advertise their credentials. The MSBA has been accredited as an independent professional organization for certifying attorneys as Criminal Law Specialists, Real Property Law Specialists, Civil Trial Law Specialists, and Labor and Employment Law Specialists. This achievement has been earned by fewer than 3 percent of all licensed Minnesota attorneys.

Megan Anderson is a principal at Gray Plant Mooty and concentrates her practice in employment law counseling and litigation. Anderson regularly advises employers and provides training regarding a wide variety of employment law issues, including discipline and termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, privacy and other tort claims, leaves of absence, compensation, handbooks and personnel policies, employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, employment issues in mergers and acquisitions, disaster prevention and response planning, and workplace violence prevention. In addition to providing preventive counseling and training, Megan conducts investigations and audits for businesses. She also regularly represents employers in administrative actions and defends employers in litigation when employment-related claims arise. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Carl’s practice also includes assisting higher education institutions with various legal compliance issues including student disciplinary proceedings, accreditation, tenure and promotion, faculty manuals, Title IV and Title IX compliance, student privacy, and campus security matters. In addition to counseling and transactional services, Carl has extensive experience litigating in federal and state courts, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution settings.
