Gray Plant Mooty Elects New 2015 Shareholders
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (January 2, 2015) — The law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Maxwell J. Bremer, Samuel W. Diehl, Ashley M. Bennett Ewald, Loren L. Hansen, Jessica B. Johnson, and Monica A. Kelley, have been elected shareholders of the firm, effective January 1, 2015.
Max Bremer is focused primarily on business matters involving entrepreneurial companies, merger and acquisition transactions, and securities law issues. He has advised social commerce companies throughout financing rounds and represented privately held companies in their sales and transactions. Bremer received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.
Samuel Diehl represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law and litigation, as well as public and private clients regarding government relations, regulatory, constitutional, and civil rights matters. Prior to joining Gray Plant Mooty, Sam worked in policy and politics in Washington, D.C., serving as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Labor and in managing a Subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture. Diehl received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Ashley Bennett Ewald is a corporate litigator and trademark prosecutor. She regularly advises clients on trademark and copyright prosecution and enforcement, brand strategy, and social media issues. A volunteer attorney for the Children’s Law Center and fluent in Spanish, Ewald received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Loren Hansen focuses his practice on patent infringement and intellectual property enforcement, and has experience in antitrust and other commercial litigation. He has been recognized as a “Minnesota Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters and as a Minnesota “Up & Coming Attorney” in 2014. Hansen received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.
Jessica Johnson helps individuals, families, family businesses, and charitable organizations plan and prepare for the future. She assists in drafting wills and trusts, advises clients on tax law and tax saving strategies, and guides families through the estate administration process. Johnson served as a judicial clerk and attorney advisor at the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C., and received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Monica Kelly advises employers on a wide variety of issues related to their employee benefit arrangements, including health and welfare plans, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, retirement plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans. Before entering private practice, she was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Helen M. Meyer of the Supreme Court of Minnesota. Kelly received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.
